College and Career Week at Pineville gave students the tools, information, and resources to take their next steps in life.

Pineville Independent Schools hosted their annual College and Career Week, powered by GearUp and the Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) Grant, from April 14–18. The week offered students hands-on experiences and valuable knowledge to take with them in their future endeavors.
Seniors participated in a variety of activities to prepare for life after high school, including CPR training, a sewing and homemaking class, and an etiquette session. Students in grades 9–12 attended the College and Career Fair, while 5th and 8th graders explored their future classrooms during Step-Up Day.
Monday kicked off with CPR training, where seniors received tools to take home. On Tuesday, they attended a sewing and homemaking session and were given sewing kits, jumper cables, and even a challenge to keep an egg uncracked for a week to earn a free prom ticket.
Wednesday featured the College and Career Fair, where older students met with local businesses and colleges. Step-Up Day gave younger students a glimpse into what next year holds. Thursday brought an etiquette class focused on manners and table rules.
On Friday, seniors signed to their chosen colleges, military branches, or workforce paths during a celebratory event with peers. Guest hypnotist Chris Jones energized the crowd, and the week closed with a town-wide scavenger hunt.
College and Career Week at Pineville Independent highlights the district’s commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. With support from GearUp, IAL, faculty, and community partners, students gained critical life skills and made lasting memories.
