Rural Summit:
From Cradle to Career
One of the few national convenings to focus on rural America, the Rural Summit brings together teachers, principals, superintendents, community leaders, higher education leaders, legislators, and nonprofit practitioners to share ideas and strategies for ensuring that rural youth have the opportunity to enter school ready to learn and successfully transition from high school to college and career.
The 2025 Summit will be held in Anchorage, Alaska. A call for proposals will be open from September 2 – 27. A preliminary schedule of breakout sessions will be released in November.
Early bird registration will run from September 2 to December 31, 2024.
Since 2018, the Summit has featured a wide range of keynote speakers including Dr. Jill Biden, educator and first lady of the United States; Dr. John B. King Jr., president and CEO of The Education Trust and former U.S. Secretary of Education; Silas House, New York Times best-selling author, Kentucky Poet Laureate; Geoffrey Canada, founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone; Dr. Michael McAfee, president and CEO of Policy Link; Jennifer Blatz, president and CEO of StriveTogether; Sarah Eagle Heart, Emmy-award winning social justice storyteller, entrepreneur, and philanthropic leader; and Alan Cohen, founder of the Child Poverty Action Lab.
